1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering, accessing, or using the TexaPay app, you agree to comply with these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or rules provided within the app.

If you do not agree, please do not use TexaPay.


2. About TexaPay

TexaPay is a digital wallet designed for foreigners in Nigeria—starting with Cameroonians—to securely deposit, hold, transfer, and spend money without requiring BVN or NIN.

TexaPay is not a bank, but works with licensed financial partners and payment providers for wallet services, virtual accounts, and settlements.

3. Eligibility

To use the app, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide valid identification (Cameroon National ID, Passport, or other approved ID)
  • Agree to identity verification procedures
  • Not be barred by any laws in Cameroon, Nigeria, or your country of residence

We may refuse or close accounts if legally required.


4. Account Registration

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate personal information
  • Not create multiple accounts
  • Keep your login details secure
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are fully responsible for all actions taken under your account.


5. Wallet Services

Your TexaPay wallet allows you to:

  • Deposit funds
  • Hold balances
  • Make transfers
  • Pay merchants
  • Withdraw to approved agents/partners
  • Convert currencies where available

All transactions are irrevocable once completed.


6. Transaction Limits

Your account may have limits based on:

  • Regulatory rules
  • Verification level
  • Risk assessment
  • Payment partner restrictions

We may adjust limits at any time.


7. Fees & Charges

TexaPay may apply:

  • Transaction fees
  • Currency conversion fees
  • Withdrawal fees
  • Partner network fees

All fees are disclosed in the app before you confirm any transaction.


8. Compliance & KYC/AML

To comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) laws, you agree to:

  • Provide requested documents
  • Allow checks with third-party verification providers
  • Cooperate with compliance reviews

We may freeze or restrict your account if suspicious activity is detected.


9. Prohibited Activities

You may not use TexaPay to:

  • Launder money
  • Finance terrorism
  • Engage in fraud or impersonation
  • Buy or sell illegal goods/services
  • Conduct crypto operations not approved by TexaPay
  • Circumvent country restrictions
  • Abuse referral or bonus systems

Violation may result in permanent account closure.


10. Currency Conversion

Rates for conversions (e.g., XAF ↔ NGN) are determined by:

  • Payment partners
  • Market conditions
  • TexaPay internal pricing
  • Rates are shown before you approve a transaction.

11. Security

We take security seriously, but cannot guarantee 100% protection.

You agree to:

  • Use a secure device
  • Do not share passwords or PINs
  • Enable biometrics where possible

TexaPay is not liable for losses due to your negligence.


12. Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the service will always be available.

Downtime may occur due to:

  • Maintenance
  • Network issues
  • Provider outages
  • Regulatory directives

We are not responsible for losses caused by downtime.


13. Liability Limitation

TexaPay is not liable for:

  • Losses caused by third-party providers
  • Wrong transfers initiated by you
  • Merchant issues
  • Exchange rate fluctuations
  • Financial losses due to user negligence

Our total liability is limited to the amount of fees you’ve paid in the last 6 months.


14. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or close your account if:

  • Required by law
  • Fraud is suspected
  • You violate these Terms
  • Your verification fails
  • Risk levels change

If closed, remaining funds will be returned to you through an approved payout channel—unless prohibited by law.


15. Dispute Resolution

For complaints:

  • Contact TexaPay Support first
  • Provide detailed information
  • We aim to resolve disputes within reasonable timeframes.
  • If unresolved, matters may be escalated to applicable authorities in Nigeria or Cameroon, depending on jurisdiction.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time.

You will be notified through the app or email.

Continued use of TexaPay means you accept the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by:

  • Nigeria's law for transactions made within Nigeria
  • Cameroon law for transactions made within Cameroon

Disputes will follow the applicable jurisdiction.
